((So, it’s been a few months since the last update. If you haven’t figured it out, this blog’s basically been moved on to an indefinite hiatus.
Largely things have been problematic for me. This is one of three ask blogs I run, two of which (including this one) are heavily story driven. This results in updates being a lot more weighted and significant, while also requiring more work.
Additionally, these ask blogs are not my primary focus: my primary niche in this fandom is as an animator.
This historically hasn’t been a problem for me, but as of recent months something’s just curbed a lot of my interest in the fandom. I still enjoy magical horses, but I have been significantly less motivated to draw them. School hasn’t helped either (senior year in college). The last piece of pony-related artwork I made dates back to July—since then, the only MLP-based media I’ve had the will to output has been flash animation related.
As such, this blog is unfortunately on indefinite hiatus. If you want to contact me personally, you can find my modblog here
Otherwise, thanks, it’s been fun. Sorry it took so long to get around to saying this.
Also, if you REALLY want, you can read below the break for spoilers as to what I had planned for this blog))
Occasionally, you need to reaffirm the fact that everything is copacetic, and just get absolutely ossified. When you’ve got the kind of thirst that can only be quenched by beverages that may or may not be under current indictment, there’s just one mare you can turn to in order to assuage that state of particular parchedness.
Ladies and Gentlemen…
It’s Mafia Octavia!
While this Thompson-mad Mare might be on a hair-trigger from her long time running cider for the Apple Family, and may or may not currently be hiding out with the influential Oranges of Manehattan, she’s pure class; and can slap bow to strings with the best of the big bands.
A Mafia Octavia
- 2 oz Stolichnaya Vodka
- 1/2 oz Vermouth
- 1/2 oz Knob Creek Bourbon
- Pink Grapefruit
- Martini Glass
Making a Mafia Octavia:
- Pour Ice and all Liquids into Shaker.
- Shake well.
- Strain into glass.
- Cut twist from Pink Grapefruit.
- Place twist into glass.
The Mafia Octavia uses the Bourbon, a traditionally bootlegged beverage, to provide a sweetly smokey, and quite powerful undercurrent to the sharper, drier, crisper overtones of the vodka martini. The pink grapefruit twist not only uses a more subtle oil than a lemon or lime twist, it will resemble her Cutie Mark.
I can’t wait to see as many of you as I can at Bronycon, August 2-4!
Keep sending in suggestions as to who you’d like to see made into a drink, and Stay Thirsty, my friends!
((So evidently Mafia Octavia has her own drink now. Seems fitting, considering she’s a cider runner!))
